Relative permittivity selection in Geologic Radar method detection

When inspecting concrete structures by using Geological Radar, the relative permittivity ��r of concrete determines the accuracy of detected accuracy. This paper describes the selecting methods and disadvantages of relative permittivity ��r and factors impacting the concrete relative permittivity ��r. During the research process, we will make 5 different Test pieces of Water-cement, detect the embedded steel in Test piece and collect data by using Geological Radar, then apply analysis software to calculate during the post-period. By studying the computational data, we can get the conclusion that when the Water-cement is between 0.4 and 0.6, there is a linear correlation between the relative permittivity ��r of concrete and Water-cement, which provides the theoretical basis for practical engineering application. ? 2014 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
