Abstract
In-situ dendrite/metallic glass matrix composites with a composition of Ti62Zr12V13Cu4Be9 upon dynamic loading exhibit distinguishing plasticity. It is found that a positive strain-rate sensitivity of the flow stresses with the strain rates dominates in such in-situ dendrite-reinforced composites. The Johnson–Cook (J–C) plasticity model is employed to model the flow behavior, and the constitutive relationship is obtained as σ=(1350+54ε−0.03)(1+0.003lnε.⁎). The ductile dendrites accommodate plasticity, characterized by the multiplication of dislocations and lattice distortions, together with the appearance of Moiré patterns.
