摘要
In this paper, a secondary optical veil for the US energy-saving traffic signal lamps using TIR and dentate lens was designed. The desired illumination was achieved and the related demand was met perfectly. Theory and procedure of TIR and dentate lens design is presented. Coordinates of the dentate lens surface are calculated in the geometric methods and the dentate lens entity is established and checked. A TIR lens is designed and imported. A secondary optical veil entity with TIR and an array of dentate lens is established and light ray tracing is simulated in Tracepro. The TIR and dentate lens design method not only simplifies the design process, but also achieves the purpose of distributing a definite luminous flux to a certain zone. The related demand is met and the utilization rate of luminous flux in this mind is much higher than in the other design methods. © Sila Science.
