Study on the property change of ACR-1 white paint by near ultraviolet irradiation

The UV irradiation effect on the electrical properties of ACR-1 white paint is studied firstly in this paper, and then the changing mechanism of it is discussed at the aid of XPS and mass spectrograph. It was found that the surface resistivity of ACR-1 white paint exponential decreases with irradiation time and has serious recovery effect when returned to atmosphere. The solar absorption of ACR-1 white paint decreases firstly and then exponent increases with the irradiation time of NUV. Oxygen vacancy is a major origin of surface resistivity variety of ACR-1 white paint subjected to UV irradiation. And the reflectance of ACR-1 white paint will increase with the vacuum and UV irradiation time. Copyright © 2013 European Space Agency.
