Impacts of source array on AVO and its correction method

Source arrays have been widely used in seismic exploration especially in low SNR land areas and offshore. However the energy propagation directions of all the source elements are difference in space. This is against AVO theory assumptions. Using wave equation numerical simulation and phase control theory, this article discusses characteristics of all the seismic energy propagation directions and the laws of their AVO curve variation. Further, we propose a method for AVO curve correction. Theoretical model test results show that the method can effectively eliminate AVO error caused by a source array, and it has great significance for the AVO analysis accuracy improvement.
