A novel classifier with support vector machine based on AP clustering

Support vector machines (SVM) have been has been successfully applied to solve a large number of classification problems, Despite its good theoretic foundations and good capability of generalization, it is a big challenging task for the large data sets. We proposed a new mixed classifier which is based on affinity propagation (AP) clustering algorithm and support vector machine (SVM). After affinity propagation clustering algorithm optimizes data setwe will get the high-quality, small sample training data for SVM classifierwhich resolves the problem of support vector machine classification inaccuracyExperimental results show that the predicted results had been tested with the novel proposed algorithm and the better results had been achieved. Especially applied to predicting heart disease, the proposed classifier obtains better results. © 2013 by Binary Information Press.
