Synthesis, crystal structure and luminescence property of a Cd(II) coordination polymer constructed by 5-(pyridin-3-yl)isophthalic acid

A cadmium coordination polymer [Cd(pyip)(H2O)(2)](n) (1) was obtained by hydrothermal assembly of cadmium acetate dihydrate with 5-(pyridin-3-yl)isophthalic acid (H(2)pyip). Complex 1 crystallizes in hexagonal space group P6(1) with a=b=1.052 66(3), c=2.044 42(10) nm, gamma=120.00 degrees, V=1.961 90(12) nm(3), Z=6, R-1=0.022 5, wR(2)=0.046 7. Single crystal diffraction revealed that each Cd center located in a slightly distorted coordination environment and it is further connected by pyip to give a three dimensional network structure. In addition, the element analysis, IR, TG and luminescent properties of polymer 1 have been investigated at room temperature. CCDC: 854164.
