Retrospective analysis of adverse drug reactions in 1585 cases in Yishui County

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the incidence rate of adverse drug reactions (ADR) in Yishui country; Study the occurrence rule of ADR and provide guidance for reasonable clinical medication. Methods: 1585 ADR case reports in Yishui country were summarized and analyzed by Excel 2003 in terms of patient's age, gender, the identity of ADR reporter, the administration route and other aspects. Results: ADR occured in any age group, especially more in males and elderly people. The cases were reported mainly by doctors from medical institution. Intravenous infusion was the major ADR administration route; the gastrointestinal system damage was the most common clinical manifestations; ADR was caused generally by antimicrobial agents, and the new ADR mostly happened in traditional Chinese medicine injection. Conclusion: We should enhance ADR education, pay more attention to the risks of intravenous medication, choose the antimicrobial agents reasonably and be careful in using of traditional Chinese medicine injections.
