Abstract
The importance of automatic calibration for anechoic chamber or room is described and the problems of existing calibration systems are analyzed at the beginning of this paper. Then a novel automatic calibration system is presented. The hardware of the system contains three key components which are the microphone position unit, sound level measurement unit and sound output unit. All these components are controlled by the controlling program and the measurement data can be analyzed automatically by the analyzing program so that the final results can be obtained. All these programs are developed by ourselves according to the standard ISO 3745. The system can realize automatic calibration for the anechoic chamber including microphone movement, sound output intensity adjustment, sound level measurement and data processing. In addition, the system can generate final reports automatically with numerical and graphic formats. The experiment results show that our system has the features of high-precision, high-efficiency, easy-operation, and good-universality and it is well competent for routine calibration work for anechoic chamber. © 2012 IEEE.
