Studies On Polarographic Behavior Of Trichlorfon-Catalyzed Reaction Of Benzidine-Sodium Perborate System And Its Application

Based on trichlorfon-catalyzed reaction of benzidine-sodium perborate by single sweep oscillopolarography, a new method is proposed for the determination of trichlorfon. The peak potential is - 0.7 V (vs. SCE). There is a good linear relationship between peak current and concentration of trichlorfon in the range from 8.0 x 10(-7) to 1.0 x 10(-4) mol/L ( r = 0.9991). The detection limit is 8.0 x 10(-8) mol/L. The relative standard deviation of 8.0 x 10(-5) mol/L trichlorfon for 6 parallel determinations is 3.1%. The mechanism of electrode reduction has been discussed. The method has been applied to the determination of residues of trichlorfon in plant with satisfactory result.
