Sympatho-vagal interaction during the recovery phase after exercise

Basic physiological concept indicates that the interplay between the sympathetic and vagal cardiac regulation is organized in a reciprocal fashion, so that an increased activity in one autonomic limb is accompanied by a decrease in the other. We hypothesized that this sympatho-vagal interplay may become disorganized at the recovery phase of physical exercise.
