Influence of postoperative nursing intervention on postoperative complications of radical surgery for cervical carcinoma

Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of postoperative nursing interventions in reducing postoperative complications after radical surgery for cervical carcinoma. Methods 87 cases of patients who were admitted to our hospital and rendered radical surgery for cervical carcinoma from December 2008 to December 2012 were selected as study objects and randomly assigned into intervention group(42 cases) and control group(45 cases),according to the hospital in a different order.The patients in both groups were treated by conventional postoperative nursing,while the intervention group also given interventional postoperative nursing.The occurrence of postoperative complications of patients in both groups was compared. Results There were total of 3 cases of postoperative complications occurred in intervention group with occurrence rate of 7.14%,while total of 14 cases in control group with occurrence rate of 31.1%.Postoperative complications of intervention group was significantly less than that of control group,the difference was statistically significant (χ 2 =9.034,P 0.01). Conclusion The postoperative nursing interventions after radical surgery for cervical carcinoma can effectively reduce the occurrence rate of postoperative complications,and has important significance in improving prognosis of patients.
