Molecular epidemiology of Ureaplasma urealytium and Mycoplasma hominis in male and female patients with reproductive-tract infection in Wuxi.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the infective status of Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasma hominis among the reproductive-tract infected patients in Wuxi.METHODS A total of 1580 swab specimens of reproductive-tract infected patients,who were treated in Wuxi People′s Hospital from 2007 to 2008,had been gathered.Using the technology of nested Polymerase Chain Reaction(nPCR),the genes of U.urealyticum and M.hominis were detected.RESULTS The positive rate of U.urealyticum and M.hominis was 42.8% and 19.2%,respectively.A total infective ratio was 50.9% from 1580 specimens,and the positive rate in females was remarkably higher than that in males.CONCLUSION The infective rate of U.urealyticum and M.hominis among reproductive-tract infected patients in Wuxi is high from 2007 to 2008,which easy to be epeclencic.
