Abstract
The Langmuir adsorption isotherm model was obtained by mathematical simulation of the equilibrium isotherm of the monoxide carbon adsorbent, and the characteristic temperature for the regeneration process of the adsorbent in the temperature swing adsorption cycle was calculated to be 118℃ by this model. An experimental study on the removal of trace carbon monoxide from the hydrogen feed gas by temperature swing adsorption (TSA) was made in a one-column system. The breakthrough curves and the characteristics of mass transfer zone at ambient temperature for the feed gases with carbon monoxide volume fraction of 0.001% or 0.015% were compared. The calculated characteristic temperature was in agreement with the optimum regeneration temperature obtained from the experiments.
