摘要
The problem of determining the charge of the electrical double layer at the mercury electrode has been discussed and the arguments in favour of the direct-charge measurements with the Kalousek method given. An electrical circuit with a mechanical switch is preferred to the potentiostatically programmed square voltage because of its simplicity and also for the possibility of precise measurements. Detailed discussion of the accuracy of measurements is given. The method of calculating the charge density based on the equation derived by Kemula and Behr [3] has been presented. The method has been checked with the wellknown solution of 0.1 M NaCl and then succesfully applied to the system with di-isopropylketone — a substance undergoing two-dimensional phase transition during adsorption at the dropping mercury electrode.
