The use of standardized tapered plastic pins in post and core fabrication

The Endowel is a plastic pin for use in the fabrication of a post and core to reinforce the restoration of an endodontically treated tooth (Fig. 10). Available in sizes 80 through 140 and color coded for ease in identification, the pin may be used in both anterior and posterior teeth utilizing either a direct or indirect technique. The Endowel requires no special investment, burns out with no residue at a low temperature, may be used as a sprue, and can be obtained at a very reasonable cost. The techniques for use are described.
