Aplicação de Algoritmos Genéticos no projeto de transformadores

A method to design electric transformers using Genetic Algorithms (GA) is described in this work. Opposite to the traditional procedure, the physical and economical analyses are both done at the same time. In the transformer design, the analytical sample we have used is based on the relation established by the general equation of electric machines. The optimization is achieved when the material cost of the pieces made of copper and iron is balanced. The increases of temperature due to the iron core and winding losses, the energy efficiency and the performing possibility are deal with restriction. We verified that the Genetic Algorithms (GA) method reaches 10% lower prices and better performance than the conventional design method.
