Abstract
We investigated the ferroelectric properties of 1 mol% Mg-doped stoichiometric lithium niobate (Mg:SLN), which is a promising material for use as a high-efficiency quasi-phase-matching (QPM) wavelength converter. The ferroelectric properties of Mg:SLN used for fabricating QPM devices have not been clarified yet. In our first experiment, the polarization-electric field (P-E) hysteresis loop in Mg:SLN was measured and its coercive field and spontaneous polarization were obtained. By measuring the P-E hysteresis loop, we investigated the dynamic properties and found a dependence of the coercive field on the slope rate of the electric field. Moreover, we obtained the "zero-velocity field" at which domain wall movement starts.
