Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between expression of murin double minute 2(MDM2),p16,p53 protein and non-hodgkin lymphoma(NHL) in children. Methods It was chosen 46 cases of NHL as patient group and 12 cases of lymphadenitis as control group.Immunohistochmistry ultrasensitive S-P assay was used to detect the expressions of MDM2,p16 and p53 protein in pathological tissues. Results Rates of expressions of MDM2 and p16 protein were 65.2% and 32.6%,respectively in NHL,which had remarkable significant difference as compared to that of control group(P0.01).Rate of positive p53 protein was 19.6%,which was no difference as compared to that of control group(P0.05).Analysis of relationship to subgroups among the NHL showed that positive expression of MDM2 was significant interrelation to the high grade of pathologic classifications, involving extranodal sites and raised serum Lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)(P0.05),and remarkable significant interrelation to the classifications of B status(P0.01).It was showed that positive expression of p16 was significant interrelation to the involving extranodal sites and raised serum LDH(P0.05),and remarkable significant interrelation to the high grade of pathologic classifications, clinical stage and B status(P0.01).And it was showed that expression of p53 was no difference as compared to subgroups(P0.05).There was a negative relation between expression of MDM2 and p16,and there was no relation ship between expression of MDM2 and p53.Conclusions Rate of expression of MDM2 protein is quite high in childhood NHL.Rates of expressions of p16 and p53 protein are relative low in childhood NHL.Both of positive expression of MDM2 and negative expression of p16 are related to poor status and poor prognosis in childhood NHL.
