Abstract
O1B. Liver transplantation~surgery~acute liver failure (b) Clinical$69 0.45, 0.30, vs. 0.91, 0.85, 0.79 at 6, 12 and 24 months respectively; p 0,0001.HR 4.6 95%CI: 2.0 10.4).Conclusions: Although LT is a possible treatment for patients with HIV infection and end-stage liver disease, intention to treat mortality seems to be higher in this population.Further studies are warranted to confirm this observation and to determine specific risk factor or the need for a different pretransplant evaluation. Conclusion:Approximately 35% of the patients transplanted for HCVrelated cirrhosis had moderate or severe alcohol consumption after LT and this proportion was comparable to that observed in patients transplanted for alcohol-related cirrhosis. The impact of alcohol consumption after LT was particularly deleterious in HCV-infected patients. In these patients, attention should focus on alcohol consumption, a factor which may be underestimated.
