Investigation of fecal specimens from swine of four groups in a totally enclosed confinement were conducted in a 2-year survey (1997-1999) to determine the prevalence, intensivity and transference of intestinal nematodes. The weaners pigs had a low parasitic infections. Growing-fmishing pigs had a middling prevalence of Ascaris suum, Oesophagostomum spp. and Trichuris suis. The fattening swine about 9 months of age had a higher prevalence of Ascaris suum, Trichuris suis and lower prevalences of Oesophagostomum spp. 9 months after. Ascaris suum and Trichuris suis eggs per gram feces were higher and Oescophagostomus spp. Eggs per gram feces were low in pigs that in swine. There was a higher prevalence of Ascaris suum and Oesophagostomum spp. in lactating swine that Trichuris suis.
