Coagulation defect in obstetrical and surgical bleeding.

Summary  Coagulation studies in five cases of female pelvic insult are described. The acute haemorrhagic diathesis of obstetrics and surgery can arise from different defects of coagulation, all phases being involved. Nevertheless, concentrated plasma infusion may be of benefit. The one-stage prothrombin time with modification, in conjunction with platelet count and clot incubation, may permit rapid diagnosis.
