Abstract
The U-enrichrnent at Heselbach/Bavaria was checked to be a suitable Natural Analogue for transport processes in the far field of an underground repository. For that reason investigations at Heselbach were carried out to identify mobilization and immobilization processes of uranium and thorium in lignite and clay sediments. Geology, hydrology and radiochemistry were studied in order to get detailed information on these topics. Subsequent to the experimental investigations a uranium transport model has been developed.
