Production Of The Charmed Strange Baryon Xi-C+ By Neutrons

We report on the observation of a narrow resonance at a mass of 2459 MeV/${c}^{2}$ in the final states \ensuremath{\Lambda}${K}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ and ${\ensuremath{\Sigma}}^{0}$${K}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$. The mass, width, lifetime, and decay modes support the interpretation of a hadronically produced charmed strange baryon, the ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}_{c}^{+}$. We present our measurements of the lifetime, cross section, and relative branching fractions, and the A, ${x}_{f}$, and ${p}_{t}$ dependence of the state.
