Abstract
Community acquired respiratory viral (CARV) infections are a putative risk factor for the bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) after lung transplantation (LTx), and therefore may have implications for long term graft survival. Parainfluenza virus (PIV) is a common cause of CARV for which there is no known effective treatment. We assessed the impact of PIV as a risk for BOS and death after LTx.
