Relationship of FAP Expression with Malignant Biological Behaviors in Gastric Carcinoma

Objective To investigate the significance of expression of FAP in gastric carcinoma(GC).Methods The expression of FAP in GC(58 cases) were examined by immunohistochemical staining,and the evaluation of relationship of FAP expression with malignant biological behaviors in gastric carcinoma also was made.Results Forty-six cases of 58(79.3%) cancer specimens were positive for FAP,non-cancerous tissue was negative.FAP had negative.FAP had a positive correlation with the differentiation,depth of invasion and growth pattern of GC(P0.01 or P0.05).but its relation to the lymph node metastasis were not significant.With the malignant degree of the tumor increased,the expression of FAP increased.Conclusion FAP expression may be related to the malignant phenotype and invasion of GC,and can reflect the biological behaviors of GC at the same time.
