Seam Thickness Variation Affected to Coal and Gas Outburst Danger

The paper had a study on the relationship between the structural coal seam thickness of Baiping Minefield and coal and gas outburst.The study found that the seam thickness and variation were the main factors to control the coal and gas outburst dangers.The relationship were the higher the seam thickness was,the higher the seam gas content and the poorer the coal seam stability was.The high variation of the seam thickness would cause both the seam gas content grads and the horizontal ground stress grads get greater.The seam thickness and variation would control the gas content,ground stress and seam stability and could play the role to control the coal and gas outburst.
