Investigation on the Behavior of Nitrogen in the Steel Making and Continuous Casting Process and Its Influence Factors

In this article,the behavior of nitrogen from steel making to casting has been investigated in steel making plant No.3 of Handan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd.The various influence factors to the nitrogen behavior have been analyzed and relevant countermeasures have been proposed to reduce the nitrogen content in the steel.The results achieved in the production practice is remarkable.The nitrogen content in steel of the tundish has decreased from an average of 54×10-6 to 43×10-6.
