Abstract
This course will provide an introduction to positive psychology. We will explore the basic concepts of the positive psychology movement by reading and discussing current research in the field, and performing several of the techniques designed to enhance well- being. This course will be interactive, and therefore, attendance and participation is essential. Absences will only be excused with a doctor's note or other documentation approved by me. Upon completion of this course, students will understand the aim and scope of positive psychology, as well as be able to discuss, debate, and write about controversial issues surrounding topics in positive psychology. Expectations for classroom behavior: Because this course will involve frequent discussions, all students are expected to be respectful of one another while someone is talking. This includes not reading the newspaper, talking, texting, eating, etc. when someone is talking. All cell phones should be turned off upon arrival to class. Failure to be respectful during class will result in loss of participation points. COURSE OUTLINE & ASSIGNMENTS
