Exposure to Vulnerabilities through Google Hacking: An Exploratory Study of comparing U.S. and Indian Academic Institutions

This paper aims to compare unintended disclosure of private information through Google search engine in the context of universities both in India and USA. In this exploratory study, we used queries relevant to concerns about privacy breach and social engineering based Internet frauds and attacks. Through this study, we found that Indian universities are more vulnerable to private information exposure than the counterpart of US, We use these findings to convey a general sense of policy requirements that prevent individuals from being compromised by Google searches in university settings.
