Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of CPAP in treatment of respiratory failure in newborn. Methods All 84 cases of newborns with respiratory failure in our pediatric wards from October 2009 to October 2011 were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 42 cases in each group. The treatment group was given the therapy of CPAP, and the control group were given therapy of facemask oxygen inhalation and medicine. Results The total effective rates of treatment group and control group were respectively 88.1% and 59.5%, the difference between the two groups has statistical significance. Conclusion CPAP is a safe and effective method to treat respiratory failure of newborn compared with conventional method and it is worthy of promotion.
