摘要
Objective To investigate the effect of the timing of admission in labor ward on the pregnancy outcome. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted. A total of 200 low risk pregnant women in labor spontaneously were recruited according the signs of labor which were divided into the false labor group (n=100) and true labor group (n=100). The delivery modality, total time of labor, postpartum hemorrhage, the rate of neonatal saphyxia and hospital expenses was compared between the two groups. Results Compared to the true labor group, the false labor group had higher incidence of uterine-incision delivery, longer birth process, more postpartum hemorrhage, higher incidence of neonatal asphyxia and more hospital expenses, all with statistically significant differences between the two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Early admission may increase unnecessary intrapartum interventions and result in increased incidence of cesarean delivery.
