The preparation of S35- and/or Cl36-labelled SO2Cl2: A simple technique for the quantitative preparation of micro- as well as macro-quantities
The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes(1959)
Abstract
Radioactive sulphuryl chloride labelled with S35 and/or Cl36 can be prepared in every quantity and with every possible specific activity by mixing calculated quantities of radioactive S35O2 with a small excess of Cl2 gas, or Cl236 gas with a small excess of SO2. Mixing is done in a reaction vessel in which a small quantity of charcoal acts as a catalyst. The yields are practically 100 per cent.
