Abstract
We looked at our management of closed tibial diaphyseal fractures sustained during football. Data was collected prospectively in a dedicated tibial fracture research clinic, following the protocol of the senior author. This method of treatment is considered unusual now due to many centres using intramedullary nailing as the first line treatment of closed fractures. We present our results using our particular technique of reduction using a locally developed reduction device and a solid and repeatable end point to define fracture healing.
