Crystal-Structure Of 2s,4s-2,4-Carboxymethyl-5,5-Dimethyl-1,3-Thiazolidine

The title compound was prepared by esterification of the corresponding dicarboxylic acid with methanol/SOCl2. It crystallizes from diethyl ether monoclinically in the space group P2(1) with a = 1004.2(7), b = 665.0(3), c = 980.3(5) pm and beta = 115.06(4)-degrees.
