Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of postoperative local recurrence rectal cancer treated by combining Intensity-modulated radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Methods From Dec.2005 to Dec.2007,forty-two patients with postoperative local recurrence rectal cancer were treated by combining IMRT(2Gy/Fx,5 times/Week,DT 66-68Gy,6-7week) and chemotherapy(5-Fu,CF and Oxaliplatin). After following up and observing,we made a retrospective analysis. Results The total treatment efficacy((CR+PR) was 85.7%(36/42);Symptom relief rate was 95.2%(40/42).The median survival time was 35.5 months.1,2 and 3 years progression-free survival rates were 87.5%、78.8%、26.3%.1,2 and 3 years overall survival rates were 83.8%、83.8%、16.9%,respectively.Acute radiation side effects included radiation restitis and leukopenia were observed, and its degree varied mainly from grade 1 to grade 2.Conclusion Intensity modulated radiation therapy combined with chemotherapy for postoperative local recurrence rectal cancer can improve local control、survival rates and reduce acute radiation side effects.
