Abstract
Landing in the sea has become the important means of coastal land development. To solve the problem of excessive after-construction settlement of dredger fills foundation, the authors carry out a series of tests of 1-D consolidation test on the self-prepared dredger fills and study the effects of the loading time, loading ratio and preloading to the secondary consolidation coefficient of dredger fills. The results show that the loading time has much effect on the coefficient at the beginning of loading. The division of the main and the secondary consolidation is relative to the loading ratio. The final values of the secondary consolidation coefficient tend to equal under different loading ratios. The secondary consolidation coefficient is influenced by the preloading with the rule of increased at first and then decreased. When the consolidation pressure is equal to the previous pressure, the secondary consolidation coefficient reaches to the peak.
