Comparative Study on Genetic Diversity of 36 Major Maize Germplasm in Guizhou by RAPDs and SSRs Techonlogy

The genetic diversity of 36 maize inbred lines was analyzed by SSRs and RAPDs markers and compared the outcome of RAPD and SSR.The result showed that:148 poly morphic hands were detected by use of,22 RAPD primer and 158 allele were detected by use of 34 SSR primer.Both SSRs and RAPDs were highly polymorphic.Percentage of polymorphic RAPDS bands was 95.95%.The average polymorphic information content(PIC)was 4.65 for SSRs.36 inbred lines could be divided into 6 groups on RAPD markers,and 5 groups on SSR markers.The pedigree analysis outcome and the classification were fundamentally identical.The study suggested that both RAPD and SSR system could be used to analyze the genetic diversity of maize inbred lines,but SSRs were better.
