Nec X12 at the Heart of Worcestershire Highways

Worcestershire County Council ( WCC) is using long-term NEC contracts linked by the X12 partnering option to provide the contractual framework for the provision of a high quality highways service to the people of Worcestershire and those who travel through the county. Establishing this contractual framework has been the first step in the development of 'Worcestershire Highways' as the innovative vehicle for highways service delivery in Worcestershire. The present paper will show how WCC is using the NEC suite of contracts, specifically the X12 partnering option, to provide an integrated, partnership highways service for the people of Worcestershire and to examine the benefits that can be achieved through this approach.
