Synthesis and spectral property of Pr3+-doped tungstate deep red phosphors

A series of tetragonal scheelite type powders with the formula of MLa1-xPrx(WO4)(2) (M = Li+, Na+, K+) and NaT1-xPrx(WO4)(2) (T=Gd3+, Y3+) have been synthesized by solid state reaction. The deep red emissions with central wavelength from 644 to 650 nm were realized when the powders were excited by blue light. The fluorescence concentration quenching of the KLa(WO4)(2):Pr3+ powders has been analyzed and the quantum efficiencies of the samples have been measured. (c) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
