Abstract
The characteristic of the single-phase earth fault in the Peterse coil grounded distribution network is discussed in this paper. It is disclosed that only the derivative of the zero-sequence current of the faulty feeder changes with the controllable inductance of the Petersen coil, while the derivative of the zero-sequence current of the sound feeder is kept invariable. Therefore, a novel faulty feeder selection criterion is proposed. A variety of simulation tests is carried out. The exactness and sensitivity of the proposed scheme are verified by simulation test results.
