Abstract
T91 steel specimens are annealed for 1 month at 525 °C in liquid lead. Up to 0.5% volume fraction of porosities are observed close to the sample surfaces. Steel platelets under fixed 4-point bending show a strong correlation between the density of cavities and the local stress, and accelerated stress relaxation.
