Slave boson mean field study of the periodic Anderson model with correlation in the conduction band

The periodic Anderson model with correlation among conduction electrons is studied in slave boson mean field approximation. The results show that there is a bandwidth narrowing effect accompanied by an enhancement of the densities of states of the two kinds of electrons. The effect may play a very important role in some heavy-fermion systems which are nearly half filling of conduction electrons. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
