Abstract
Objective: To discuss the relationship between social support and health level in patients with mental disorders due to use of alcohol (PMDUA). Methods: To investigate 37 cases of PMDUA by such questionnaire as SCL-90 and social support rating scale (SSRS). Results: (1) The scores of each factor in SCL-9 in PMDUA were significantly higher than in common model in 1986. (2) The scores of total social support, objective support, subjective support and utility of support in PMDUA were significantly lower than in control group. (3) There was relationship between health level and social support of PMDUA. Conclusion: There were damages of different degree in psychological, physical and social functions of PMDUA. It is important to publicize the harmfulness of over drinking, strengthen social support, enhance work of mental health and give early intervention.
