摘要
Between 1956 and 1977, 728 patients with Stage I, II, and III cancer of the ovary were treated and followed for a minimum of 6 months or until death. The majority of patients were treated with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy (80%). The survival rate at 5 years was 70, 50, and 16% in patients with Stage I, II, and III, respectively. Twelve patients developed other primary malignancies after the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer. One patient developed acute nonlymphocytic leukemia 2 years and 10 months after the laparotomy. Expected number of patients to develop second malignancy including acute nonlymphocytic leukemia using the Third National Cancer Study Survey as a control is not increased.
