Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) involves reversible electrophysiological changes that promote its recurrence and maintenance. After cardioversion, the necessary time for normalization of the atrial electrophysiologic properties (reversal remodeling) is still not defined and little is known about the effects of amiodarone on remodeling process.
