摘要
Pseudomonas aeruginosa was cultured from the cornea of a horse with a severe corneal ulcer, descemetocele and hypopyon. The history of a rapidly progressing corneal ulcer and the presence of large numbers of gram negative organisms in a corneal scraping permitted an earlier tentative diagnosis of pseudomonas keratitis. Medical therapy was administered locally by a subpalpebral medication device and subconjunctival injections. Appropriate therapy with gentamicin, atropine, phenylephrine, acetylcysteine, phenylbutazolidine and prepodyne resulted in a favorable outcome.
