A generator for the fast switching-off of the magnetic field in experimental observations of the spin state dynamics of radical ion pairs in low magnetic fields

The generator ensures the switching-off of the magnetic field, having an amplitude of 4 × 0.5 mT in 22 × 2 ns at a frequency of 50 kHz in a volume of about 2 cm 3 , in a setup intended for measuring delayed fluorescence in the photon counting mode. It helped to observe spin evolution of spin-correlated radical ion pairs ( para -terphenyl/ para -terphenyl) in a zero magnetic field using the time-resolved magnetic effect method. It was shown that the generator allows one to study the spin dynamics of a wide class of organic radical ions in a weak magnetic field.
