CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE ACESSOS DO BANCO ATIVO DE GERMOPLASMA DE MAMÃO POR MEIO DE ANÁLISE MULTIVARIADA

ABSTRCT: The present study aims to characterizing 65 acessions from the Papaya Germplasm Bank at Embrapa Cassava and Tropical Fruits, based on eight morphologic descriptors using multivaried analisys. The characteristics analysed were: color of petiole; presence of wax and leaves trichomes; length and width of leaves (cm), carpeloidy, uniformity of fruit distribution and length of the fruit stalk. The use of these descriptors detected considerable variation betwen the germplasm accessions, considering that length and width of the leaf were the most important characteristic for to evaluating the genetic variability observed.
