Clinical Trial of Fufangxuanju Capsule in the Treatment of Oligoasthenospermia

Objective To observe the efficacy of Fufangxuanju capsule in the treatment of oligoasthenospermia. Methods An open, own-controlled clinical trial was performed in 162 patients with oligoasthenospermia.Patients were treated with Fufangxuanju capsule for 12 weeks. The efficacy of patients was evaluated mainly by the sperm concentration, percentage of progressive motility (sum of grades a+b) and sperm motility; and secondarily by percentage of grade a, sperm liquefaction time, normal sperm morphology, volume of semen , fructose density and α-glycosidase. Results 153 patients finished clinical trial. Compared with pre-treatment, the sperm concentration, percentage of progressive motility (sum of grades a+b), sperm motility and percentage of grade a in patients were significantly improved after treatment of 12 weeks(P 0.01), and other semen parameters in patients were significantly increased(P 0.05). The pregnancy rate following-up 3 months after treatment was 18.9%. Conclusion Fufangxuanju capsule can improve seminal quality of patients with oligoasthenospermia.
